SiteGround Partners with BidVertiser

SiteGround, a web hosting supplier, today announced that its web hosting plan now comprise free advertising credits worth $70. The company says that its hosting customer can use $50 ad credits for social network MySpace and $20 for BidVertiser, one of the fastest increasing online advertising networks.

It further states that inclusion of additional free resources to the hosting plan is far and wide spread throughout the shared hosting industry. Two months ago SiteGround also added $25 of free ad credits for MySpace advertising program to its web hosting services. Now the ad credits initiative has evolved: the MySpace credits have been doubled and new credits for BidVertiser are now also provided.

Web Host Attenda Renews Cloud Contract with BMI

UK managed hosting provider Attenda Limited (www.attenda.net) declare on Thursday it has signed a three year contract renewal with airline carrier bmi (www.flybmi.com) for the operational management of many of its key business applications, including re-platforming of the existing associated infrastructure.

As the second largest airline at London Heathrow, bmi operates services in UK, Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa.

The airline has been an Attenda client since 2004 and the partnership has grown since then with Attenda now being one of bmi's main IT suppliers.

Within the contract, Attenda will continue to host many of bmi's key business applications. The airline has advanced plans to move much of the infrastructure delivered by Attenda onto Attenda's new VMware vCloud platform.

"Using cloud computing, based on VMware's technology and provided to bmi by Attenda, gives us the capability to scale our computing capacity on demand, in order to meet spikes in activity," says Peter Federico, group IT director at bmi. "Clearly cloud computing is core to our day-to-day operations."

The technical solution is based on many technologies and include deployment of the Attenda Virtualization Platform, shared SAN and NAS and other Attenda shared services.

Attenda recently get CarbonNeutral company status, which replaces the CarbonNeutral office accreditation it received in January 2009.

Web Host, HostGator Donates $100K to Red Cross for Haiti Relief
